Staged on the water’s edge, this Dorset shoot showcases the talents of local wedding professionals
Shealan Faere Butler as the photographer approached Oxana of Minster Designs having heard about her dress company. She wanted to do a styled shoot for a while and found her dresses were beautiful and wanted to do something with a bohemian feel; she said she had the perfect dresses. From there she gathered a team of Dorset’s finest wedding professionals and they set about creating a true fine art photography result.
What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
Dulled blue tones, marshy landscape, windswept, drift wood, and peeling paint; these were the primary influences behind the shoot along with a desire to create a romantic, almost renaissance, feel to the images.
What did you choose for the flower arrangements?
The English Florist wanted the arrangements to reflect the windswept, shoreline feel of the shoot, so architectural, textured flowers and foliage were used. The coral fern perfectly reflects the sea shore atmosphere, as does the eryngium, otherwise known as sea holly and the spiky mini protea were also ideal. Colour, of course, was an essential part of the shoot and eucalyptus was chosen to correspond with the bluey grey hues and delicate sweet avalanche roses picked up the blush pink
